Must Love Junk-Summer Home Tour Series

It's FRIDAY!!
So welcome to another wonderful Summer Home Tour! I've been unable to share a tour in a little while due to some health issues, but I cannot wait to share this one with you today as it is my type of eye candy. To visit Susan's house would be an amazing treat to me with her incredible antique farmhouse style and ability to display it. Every picture is packed full of so much interest and inspiration that I feel like I'm going to embarass myself with a trail of drool. Her Blog is amazing! So let's meet the author, shall we?

Hi, everyone!  My name is Susan and my blog is must love junk.  I'm thrilled that Michele has asked me to be a part of her fun summer home tours!  Hope you enjoy! :)

My hubby, 2 cats and I live in a 1929 Colonial.  We moved in about 9 years ago, and we love this neighborhood that has a lot of history.

Come on in!

When you walk in the front door, this is what you see...

I define my style as eclectic, but lately I've been leaning more towards a lighter, brighter, rustic farmhouse look.
I'm drawn to what I call 'good junk'...anything chippy, worn, and weathered!

Our home has an unusual layout.  Basically the whole front of the house is one big room or hallway.  It's a lot of wasted space, but I just decorate the heck out of it so it'll at least look pretty! :)

This is in one part of the 'hall'...

And this is in another...

And this is the furthest end of the hall, beside the living room...

I wanted the living room to be casual and comfortable as it's where we spend a lot of our time.

I love adding a touch of industrial to my space, such as this authentic factory cart that we got at a salvage yard.

This old map behind the couch was one of the first things that my hubby and I bought at an auction about 14 years ago!

This is our mantel, decorated in a subtle 'coastal' theme for summer.

I'm always rearranging and changing things around, and right now I'm making some changes to the living room.  I'll be showing them on my blog soon, so you'll have to visit! :)

The sunroom is off of the living room, and it's probably my favorite room right now.  We love hanging out here when it's warm enough!

The cats love it, too! (This is Bo.)

This summer I've been adding lots of soft blues and greens out here to my normally neutral palette.
It feels soothing and fresh to me.

Our kitchen in the back of the house is tiny, but that doesn't stop me from trying to give it some BIG style!

I like to add some whimsy here and there, like with this diner menu board!

It can be challenging to work with such a small room, but I've tried to maximize the space with clever and interesting storage options...

...such as these canisters and the wicker trunk...

This is the dining room, where I've mixed wood tones, whites, and a dash of black against the pale green walls and green painted floors.

Here's our little back stoop, by the door that we use to enter the house.

I couldn't pass up an opportunity to spruce up this small, uninspired space!

Well, I hope that you enjoyed this glimpse into our home!

Thank you so much, Michele for inviting me!

Wow Susan, what an honor!
Can't you all just imagine visiting her home walking around each corner slowly in order to take it all in piece by piece, so as not to miss a thing? I have enjoyed following her blog, each post is a treat, so if you have the time click on over to Must Love Junk and enjoy even more junky goodness (as I like to call it). And because we are catching up around here, come back here Tuesday for a catch up edition of the Summer Series with Traci Creel from Three Dogs At Home.

Can't wait to see you then!
